Driving Directions:  Remember that main exits will be closed race day

Driving Directions & Parking The race is held in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park which is approximately 200 miles north of San Francisco and 40 miles south of Eureka.

Race Day Exits Traveling north on Highway 101 Use the REDCREST/HOLMES EXIT,#667.

Traveling south on Highway 101 Use the AVE OF THE GIANTS SCENIC ALTERNATE (THIRD REDCREST EXIT), #667A.

Parking Monitors will direct you to the parking area. Parking is available beginning at dawn on Sunday morning. The parking area is adjacent to the start-finish area. Because there is only a single access road to the parking area, please try to arrive by 7a.m. so you can avoid a traffic snarl. Traffic monitors will direct you.

Please be on Time, the mats are moved after the start
Try to arrive 1 hour prior to your race for parking, it is a huge issue to try to park everyone on the River bar before the race, Thanks.

PARKING: Adjacent to the staging area on the north side of the Dyerville Bridge on the Eel River flats. Arrive on the early side, AT LEAST AN HOUR AND A HALF PRIOR TO THE START OF YOUR EVENT!!Riverbed Parking

WALKERS & SLOWER RUNNERS: You are welcome to participate in any event. Please start at the back of the pack to avoid congestion.  There is a 7 hour limit to walkers on the Marathon Course.

VIEWING AREA: Spectators may view race at any point along course -- the most exciting points are the start/finish line area north of the bridge and the half-way area on the bridge.

No headphonesBecause of road conditions, insurance and RRCA restrictions,and because we want each and every one of you to fully enjoy our beautiflu course, the use of head phones and the accompanying listening devices IS NOT ALLOWED! Violators may be disqualified from receiving any award for whichthey might otherwise be elligible . For the same reasons, please refrain from taking bikes, skateboards,strollers,dogs, and the like onto the course. According to RCAA, deliberate pacing in championship events is forbidden

TEE SHIRTS: Tee shirts will be given to each "on-site runner" with pre-March 15th registrants receiving first priority for race site shirt sizes. Should demand for a particular size exceed supply, additional shirts may be ordered. Commemorative sweat shirts and "tech" shirts will be available for purchase on race day.

MEDALS: Finisher Medals given to all marathon and half marathon and 10k finishers.

GOODIES: Goodie Bags, Fruits and snacks will be provided after the race to all participants. Race officials reserve the right to parcel food out so all participants can receive some.

Packet Pick Up

Packet Pick UpSTAGING BIB AND  CHIP PICK UP: Runners pick bibs and chips at the race staging area on Saturday between 12 pm and 6 pm, or on race day morning, beginning at 7 am.  Remember that the Marathon starts at 7:45, the Half at 8:45 and the 10K at 9:00; so if you wish to pick up your packet or register for one of the races on Sunday morning, please do so as early as possible.

 

Awards

 Picture  Marathon: Overall Male and Female, Overall Master Male and FeOverall Grand Master Male and Female:  If the overall winner is a master or Grand        Master the second faster runner in that division will be the 1st place winner in the divisional awards.
DIVISIONS: 19 and under, and each five years from 20 years.

Half Marathon: Overall Male and Female special award.
DIVISIONS: 14 and under, and each five years from 15 years on.

10K:  Overall Male and Female, no age division awards.
